Join us for the annual Renaissance Studies beginning-of-year faculty roundtable and reception at the Gayle Karch Cook Center at Maxwell Hall. The roundtable will be held in Seminar Room 122, and a reception will follow in the courtyard (weather permitting). The following talks will be presented: 

Olimpia E. Rosenthal (Spanish and Portuguese), “Racialization in Colonial Latin America”

Massimo Ossi (Musicology), “Music and the Italian Counterreformation, Innovation and Contradictions”

Constance Furey (Religious Studies), “Extimate Death: Knowledge and Violence in More’s Utopia”
